Suriya and Trisha Krishnan’s fantasy action blockbuster ‘Karuppu’ is gradually approaching the final phase of its theatrical journey. After nearly four weeks in cinemas, the film continues to register collections despite facing a natural slowdown.According to Sacnilk, ‘Karuppu’ earned Rs 43 lakhs net in India on Day 27. The collection came from 869 shows across various regions. The latest number represents a 4.4 percent drop from the Rs 45 lakhs net collected on Day 26.
India box office total nears Rs 200 crore
‘Karuppu’s total India net collection has climbed to Rs 194.81 crore. The film’s India gross collection now stands at Rs 225.15 crore.The movie enjoyed a sensational opening week and collected Rs 113.85 crore. It maintained strong momentum in the second week with Rs 54.30 crore. The third week added another Rs 21.20 crore to the tally. The film has already secured blockbuster status at the box office.
Overseas performance pushes worldwide total
On Day 27, the film earned Rs 10 lakhs gross overseas. This pushed its overseas total to Rs 80.90 crore. ‘Karuppu’ has now reached a worldwide gross collection of Rs 306.05 crore.
Occupancy remains stable in fourth week
Despite entering its fourth week, ‘Karuppu’ continued to attract audiences in Tamil Nadu and other key markets. The Tamil version recorded an overall occupancy of 15.91 percent on Day 27.Morning shows registered 9.36 percent occupancy. Afternoon shows improved to 16.64 percent. Evening shows recorded 16.36 percent, while night shows performed best at 17.91 percent.
OTT premiere around the corner
The fantasy action entertainer is set to premiere globally on Prime Video on June 12.
