SRINAGAR: A truck plunged into a deep gorge at the Zojila Pass in Kashmir after skidding off a narrow mountain road in a dramatic accident captured on camera.The incident occurred when the vehicle was travelling from Sonmarg in Kashmir to Kargil in Ladakh.According to details, the driver lost control while reversing on the treacherous high-altitude stretch, causing the truck to skid and fall into the gorge. Despite the severity of the crash, the driver managed to escape unhurt. The Zojila Pass, located at an altitude of around 11,575 feet, is considered one of the most dangerous mountain routes in the country. The Srinagar–Leh highway passing through the pass is frequently affected by avalanches, landslides, slippery road conditions, and deep valleys, making travel highly risky, especially during adverse weather conditions.
