AMRITSAR: Jai Pal Singh Bau, the in-charge of Ward No. 42 of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), was shot on Thursday and sustained injuries.He was rushed to a private hospital in Amritsar, where he is currently undergoing treatment. According to information, a dispute allegedly broke out between Jai Pal Singh Bau and his neighbour over vehicle parking. The incident took place outside his residence Thursday afternoon. The argument reportedly escalated into a heated exchange, followed by alleged firing , during which Jai Pal Singh sustained a gunshot injury to his leg.Police are yet to confirm the cause of the dispute.Dr. Avtar Singh of Amandeep Hospital, where Jai Pal Singh is undergoing treatment, said that he was admitted with bullet injuries adding that the patient had both entry and exit wounds, as the bullet passed through the body without causing damage to any vital organs. He further stated that the Jaipal is stable.CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced, showing both parties engaged in a verbal altercation and the dispute escalated later. Varpal Singh, an acquaintance of Jai Pal Singh, told the media that the altercation occurred over a parking dispute.
