Music composer Shashwat Sachdev recently opened up about a touching moment that took place during the recording of ‘Phir Se’ for ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’. He revealed that playback singer Arijit Singh was so moved by the song that he got emotional after recording it.

Talking to News18, Shashwat said, “Phir Se Naina Bhare was deeply special. The veena in the shades of Raag Khamaj gave it an ancient tenderness, and Arijit brought a kind of emotional surrender that is very difficult to describe without making it smaller. After he sang it, he told me the song had made him extremely emotional. We had a very emotional conversation afterwards, and that is a conversation I will carry in my heart for the rest of my life. Some moments in music are not meant to become anecdotes. They become part of your inner life.”

He further added, “What he contributed cannot be measured only by whether a line in the scratch changed. His greatest contribution was the truth with which he entered the song. He understood that the composition did not need performance in the exhibitionist sense. It needed surrender. His voice made the emotion feel lived, not sung from outside. For me, the song became divine because nobody tried to dominate it. The veena, the raag, the voice, the composition and the scene all bowed to the same feeling.”

‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ is once again directed by Aditya Dhar, who also made the first installment starring Ranveer Singh that released in December 2025. Produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, the sequel continues the story of an Indian spy working undercover in Karachi, taking on bigger threats within the criminal world and Pakistani politics. The film is loosely based on real events and released in theatres worldwide on March 19.
