BHOPAL: A domestic dispute in Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior district turned violent Saturday night when a woman allegedly threw boiling water on her husband, leaving him with severe burn injuries to his private parts.Her father-in-law, who tried to intervene, also suffered minor burns.Police have registered a case against the woman under relevant provisions of the BNS. According to police, only the husband, wife and the husband’s father were present in the house at the time.“The couple do not have any children and they used to quarrel frequently. It has surfaced during the primary investigation that the injured is a habitual drinker. On Saturday night also, they had a dispute,” Dabra City police station in-charge Sanjay Sharma said.“The husband slapped the woman in a fit of rage. She then turned into the kitchen and poured boiling water on her husband. Her father-in-law, who was nearby, also sustained minor injuries. She had kept water boiling for preparing dal. The husband is undergoing treatment.”The husband has also alleged that after the incident, his wife fled with cash and gold and silver jewellery kept in the house. Police said the allegation is being verified.
