TCS reshuffles leadership across key verticals, markets

Bengaluru: TCS has announced one of its biggest leadership rejigs in recent years, naming new leaders across key industry verticals, geographies and service lines as India’s largest IT services company strengthens its leadership bench to tap growth opportunities in AI, platform ecosystems and industry-specific transformation.The changes span banking and financial services (BFSI), life sciences, cyber security, communications and technology, energy and utilities, travel and hospitality, Canada, the US West Coast, ServiceNow and autonomous business operations. Most appointments take effect immediately.The biggest restructuring is in BFSI Americas, TCS’ largest industry vertical, where the company has split the business into two groups to provide greater leadership focus. Susheel Vasudevan, who headed BFSI Americas, will move into a strategic role reporting to CEO K Krithivasan. Rakesh Kumar, who led BFSI US West, and Mohan Veeturi, who headed BFSI US East Banking, have been elevated as business group heads for the newly created units.Krithivasan said the changes aim to strengthen leadership bandwidth as client demand evolves amid AI, platform modernisation and changing operating models. “The scale, complexity and opportunity landscape within this business continue to expand rapidly,” he said in internal communication.In Canada, Manmeet Chhabra, currently heading BFSI Canada, has been appointed country head after Soumen Roy moved to lead TCS’ Global Value & Innovation Centres business.The company also created dedicated business groups for travel, transport & hospitality (TTH) and energy, resources & utilities (ERU). Arun Pradeep, who led TTH UK & Europe, will head the newly created TTH business group, while Sabyasachi Chandra, previously head of North America utilities, will lead the ERU business.Within Europe, Ganesa Vaikuntam, who currently heads TCS’ cyber security service line, has been appointed ISU head for life sciences UK & Europe, succeeding Vikas Jain.Chief operating officer Aarthi Subramanian also announced several leadership changes across strategic growth businesses. Rajnish Palande has been named global head of the newly created ServiceNow Business Unit, reflecting TCS’ expanded partnership with the enterprise software company.Kumaranarayanan, who led North America Energy & Resources, will now head the cyber security business unit, while Akhilesh Tripathi will lead the newly formed US West Coast Business Group, which will focus on clients across technology, semiconductors and software.TCS has also combined its communications, media, information services and technology businesses into a single business group under V. Rajanna, while Akhilesh Tiwari will head global sales for the newly established Autonomous Business Operations (ABO) unit.Announcing the new unit, Subramanian said, “ABO is emerging as a significant opportunity for TCS as clients look to reimagine business processes, improve productivity, build resilience, and unlock AI-led operating models.” She said the company was creating a dedicated sales organisation to drive go-to-market efforts across industry-focused business process operations and enterprise business operations, helping TCS “capture new growth opportunities at the intersection of AI, business process transformation and enterprise operations.
