Recently, Triumph Motorcycles revised its India lineup by reworking the engine capacity of its entry-level motorcycles to qualify for a lower tax slab. Following the update, select models in the brand’s modern classic range became more affordable, with some variants receiving notable cuts in their ex-showroom prices. However, the lower pricing may only be temporary. A Mumbai-based Triumph dealer recently hinted through Instagram activity that the company could revise prices upward from June 1, 2026. Depending on the model, customers may see an increase of up to Rs 8,000. Do note that Triumph Motorcycles India has not issued any official confirmation regarding the reported price increase for its 400cc motorcycle range. The development is currently based on a social media update shared by a dealership. The story will be updated once Triumph releases an official statement on the matter. Prospective buyers may want to confirm prices with nearby dealerships before any revised pricing comes into effect.Triumph Motorcycles currently retails six motorcycles based on its updated sub-400cc platform in India, including the Triumph Speed T4, Triumph Speed 400, Triumph Scrambler 400 X, Triumph Scrambler 400 XC, Triumph Thruxton 400 and the recently launched Triumph Tracker 400. The company had earlier reduced engine capacity across the lineup to qualify for a lower GST bracket, leading to price cuts on multiple models.The Triumph Speed T4 was the only motorcycle in the range to retain its ex-showroom price of Rs 1.95 lakh after the revision. Other models, including the Scrambler 400 and Thruxton 400, saw price reductions of nearly Rs 10,000-11,000. Talking about the 350cc engines, the revised models are now powered by a 349cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. This has been achieved by reducing the stroke from 64 mm to 56.1 mm, while the bore remains unchanged at 89 mm.The Triumph Speed T4 now produces 29.0 PS at 7,500 rpm and 31.0 Nm at 5,500 rpm, compared to the earlier output of 31.0 PS and 36.0 Nm. Meanwhile, the Triumph Speed 400 and Triumph Scrambler 400 X generate 37.0 PS at 8,500 rpm and 32.0 Nm at 7,000 rpm, down from 40.0 PS and 37.5 Nm previously. The Triumph Thruxton 400 and Triumph Scrambler 400 XC now produce 40.0 PS at 8,750 rpm and 32.0 Nm, compared to the earlier 42.0 PS and 37.5 Nm figures.
